UNDER THE ALMOND TREE
JER 1:10&11/JN 13:14&15/Matt 20:8&9
…. We are perplexed but not in despair….
2 Cor 4:8
At this Almond Tree, today, I like to shed light on the above phrase from quoted scripture. We are perplexed but not in despair. The writer, Apostle Paul sharing the physical truth of the situation of the born-again Christian. The fact that we are now born again does not spare us from many or great challenges. However, The Apostle Paul quickly superimposes the Spiritual reality of the situation for the same Christian as he introduces a good ending, THAT DESPITE THE PERPLEXING SITUATION, YET WE ARE NOT IN DESPAIR. Note always, it’s not how the confession starts that matters, it’s how the confession ends, for the end of our conversation is what matters. The Apostle Paul, states in disguise what keeps us springing back to life no matter the degree of pressure, pain, punishment that the world may think it can bring.
We are perplexed also means we are filled with uncertainty, we are puzzled or full of difficulty, but we are not in despair; we have not lost hope, in fact we are victorious, we are not in loss or absence of hope, we are not in desperation, distress, anguish, pain, unhappiness. We are full of life. The quality of life in the writer of the text; Apostle Paul was the reason why he was stoned to death but resurrected, he went through a storm, the boat crashed, but he and 276 others survived. He was bitten by a snake but yanked the snake off and nothing happened to him. That life is the Life of Christ, ETERNAL LIFE. He not only had this life, but he was also conscious of the reality of the effect and power of the Life in him. If you live in the consciousness of the presence and reality and power of the Zoe Life in you, that abundant life of Christ, will always renew your soul and cause you never to despair. Ps 43v19.many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God delivers him from them all. Those who have Christ have been baptized into christ and put-on Christ. The same Spirit that rose Him up from the dead dwells in us and that same spirit is able to quicken our mortal body. Rom 8v11.
Ps 27v3 Thou a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fail, though war should rise against me, in this war, I am confident. Gloraay Ps 66v12…Men climbed rode upon our heads, but God brought us into a wealthy place. All these are possible because Christ in us is the hope of glory because the greater one lives in you. So, things that perplex others do not perplex you, for you always have victory through the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus, The Life in you cannot be perplexed, it can’t be in despair…Celebrate!!!!
